St. Paul’s Cathedral is one of London’s oldest and most visited tourist attractions. Overlooking charming London city, it is said to date back as far as 604AD. The current cathedral is the 4th to occupy this site and Sir Christopher Wren designed it in the 17th century.

A lot of the England’s most prestigious events over the years have been held here, most notably being services that honour the 80th & 100th birth of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer also got married here.

The Cathedral truly is beautiful. You’ll be impressed by the brilliant Dome, which dominates the cathedral. The cathedral is also decorated with 18th century paintings and 19th century mosaics. The Ancient Crypts house the tombs of Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington and Winston Churchill.

The highlight of most peoples trip is the journey up the spiral staircase. This will bring you to the Whispering Gallery from which you will have an amazing view of the London cityscape.

St Paul’s Cathedral is open to sightseers Monday to Saturday 8.30 – 16.00, however you may not be allowed access if a special service is taking place.
